The Minority Cannabis Academy (MCA) is a black-owned adult learning nonprofit institution based in Jersey City, New Jersey. MCA has built a workforce development program focused on high-quality technical training to prepare members of underserved communities for a career in the cannabis industry.
The MCA 8-week educational program provides students with in-person, hands-on experience in key curricula developed by subject matter experts, including:
- Cannabis horticulture
- Budtending 101
- Cannabis extraction and processing
- Entrepreneur training
- Intro to medical marijuana and cannabis law
Through the program, students also form relationships with cannabis operators and Alternative Treatment Centers, uniquely preparing them for future careers in cannabis, either as entrepreneurs or employees in the marketplace.
