We have selected 12 nonprofits thus far that we believe embody the Good Green mission, vision and values to receive the Good Green Grant. The Minority Cannabis Academy provides comprehensive professional development and technical training for minorities and disenfranchised communities who are interested in becoming cannabis industry professionals.

Nolef Turns

Richmond, VA

Nolef Turns Inc. supplies a network of resources to help individuals thrive post-conviction, fighting against an unjust judicial system to help end mass incarceration.

Cannabis Equity IL Coalition

Chicago, IL

The Cannabis Equity IL Coalition is a community-led organization that advances equity in the State of Illinois by providing support services for individuals to expunge or seal their criminal records, with a focus on cannabis offenses.

Petey Greene Program

Princeton, NJ

Since 2008, the Petey Greene Program has been transforming pre-collegiate education for currently and formerly incarcerated learners, as well as educating and providing volunteer opportunities for justice-oriented activism.

Growing Home

Since 2002, Growing Home has been a nonprofit leader in urban agriculture, serving the Greater Englewood community in Chicago with their innovative paid employment training program and local, healthy food access.

Gives free legal advice and representation to low-income Philadelphia residents who are held back by their criminal records, seeking expungements and pardons, and leading systemic reform.

Why Not Prosper

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Offers pre-release mentoring to incarcerated women, as well as residential and community services to empower women from prison systems in becoming responsible, economically self-sufficient and contributing members of the community.

This Black History Month, Good Green commemorates the past and looks towards the future by honoring Black Resistance and the lived experiences of Black activists and Black artists. Good Green is dedicated to fostering sustainable change in communities that suffered the most from the War on Drugs. Including the Black Community which, through resistance, has prevailed in historic and ongoing systemic inequities and injustices across all areas of society.

Good Green Black History Month

This Black History Month, Good Green is highlighting inspirational Black leaders in the cannabis and activism spaces. Part of Good Green’s core purpose is to uplift and amplify disenfranchised voices that have been affected by the War on Drugs. Throughout February, Good Green will continue working toward the goal of creating new wealth and opportunity by featuring Black entrepreneurs and activists in local markets.
